Male Childcare and Teaching Jobs

Male Childcare and Teaching Jobs is an organisation that tackles one of the biggest problems that the childcare and education industry faces in the UK: gender stereotypes and male underrepresentation within the teaching workforce.

Our vision is to increase male employment in nurseries and schools up to 40% by 2028. Men currently represent less than 20% of teachers and early years practitioners in the UK, with less than 3% in the early years.

Our objectives are:

  • Celebrating men working in childcare and education with monthly awards, such as giveaways, prize draws, free qualifications, and more.
  • Encouraging more men to get into teaching careers through partnerships with universities, colleges, training providers and recruiters.
  • Facilitating men’s employment in nurseries and schools through a jobs board where only inclusive employers advertise vacancies.
  • Supporting nurseries and schools in diversifying the gender of their teams through candidate-sourcing, recruitment and onboarding services.
