In April 2024, Geoff Norcott and the Men and Boys Coalition organised a benefit night at the Comedy Store, London where a bunch of Britain’s best comedian’s stood up for blokes and boys and raised over £11,000 for men’s health, mental health and suicide prevention charities.
Thanks to the generosity of everyone who attended, donated and (of course) performed, we have now been able to award grant funding to enable the following projects from our member organisations.
LADS NEED DADS
To fund a team bonding activity day for volunteer mentors who support boys from fatherless homes.
LEEDS MEN’S HEALTH UNLOCKED
For a series of health promotion activities leading up to International Men’s Day, including signposting to peer-to-peer support and health & wellbeing services.
MAN AND BOY
A family activity day for boys and the men in their lives, to help them bond, learn and grow together.
MANHEALTH
To fund an overnight camping and activity trip for men engaged in peer-to-peer mental health support groups in the North East of England
MANKIND PROJECT UK & IRELAND
To provide free workshops on emotional wellbeing and communication in Belfast, Edinburgh, Cardiff and London.
SHARED PARENTING SCOTLAND
A training day for frontline staff dealing with vulnerable dads who are going through family breakdown or separation.
TALK CLUB
Covering set-up costs and staff training for two new peer-to-peer support groups in Kent.
UK MEN’S SHEDS ASSOCIATION
To purchase equipment and cover set-up costs involved in establishing two new men’s shed projects inside British mosques.
WHO NEEDS INSTRUCTIONS?
To buy tools and a broken-down motorcycle, to be repaired and refurbished by a men’s peer-to-peer support group, in partnership with Co-Create.
