The Awards panel were enormously impressed with the breadth and imagination of the Bristol-based charity’s success over the previous year, including operating around 40 ‘mental fitness’ clubs which all begin with the simple question, How Are You Out of 10?

WINNER: NATHANIEL OKE
The widely-acclaimed psychotherapist who has made tireless contributions to black men’s mental health through his own practice and charities such as The Everyman Project, Thought-Feeder and Talking Therapy Clinics. His work has focused on helping men recover from trauma and reduce violence in their lives.

WINNER: ITV EMMERDALE & ANDY’S MAN CLUB

ITV’s long-running soap opera made an enormous contribution to public understanding of men’s issues in 2023 with their powerful plotline involving much-loved character Paddy, played by Dominic Brunt, addressed his suicidal feelings by attending a branch of Andy’s Man Club.

Lifetime Achievement Award:
WINNER: PROFESSOR JONATHAN WAXMAN  

As world-renowned oncologist and academic expert on cancer, Professor Jonathan Waxman has made an incalculable professional contribution to saving men’s lives, but is as original founder of Prostate Cancer UK that he transcended clinical practice and academia to become one of the most important and influential figures in the history of Men’s Health. It was our enormous privilege to be able to award him the Lifetime Achievement Award, 2023.
