Coalition recommendations on RSE incorporated in Government guidelines for schools

The Men and Boys Coalition welcomes the incorporation of recommendations from its briefing paper on Relationships and Sex Education (RSE) in new Government guidelines on how the subject should be taught in schools.

In particular, the Coalition welcomes explicit acknowledgment of male victims and the importance of not engaging in teaching practices that shame or stigmatise boys:

The new Government guidelines were published on February 25 following a three-month consultation, which the Coalition contributed to by submitting an expert briefing paper authored by MBC co-founders Dr Ben Hine and Ally Fogg, with input from Justin Hancock of Bish Training and Lisa Hallgarten National Co-ordinator, Sex Education Forum.

The full briefing paper is available here:

The Coalition looks forward to continuing to engage with the Department for Education as the guidelines are implemented in practice.
