Dr Christian Edwards is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Worcester, where he is a member of the Gender, Identity and the Body research group. The principal focus of his research is on the antecedents and consequences of muscularity-orientated body image in men. He has published his work in, and reviews for, a number of leading international academic journals in this area. He has also presented work at several conferences and events focused on men’s health and well-being. His published work can be viewed here.
In his current work, Christian is working closely with men who experience muscle dysmorphia – a muscle-orientated form of body dysmorphic disorder. In this work, he is exploring the life histories of men with this disorder. In addition to his work in this field, he also collaborates on projects focused on men’s workplace physical activity and well-being.
