Dr Rebecca Owens

My name is Dr Rebecca Owens and I am a lecturer in Psychology at the University of Sunderland.

My interest in male psychology originated from my PhD which took an evolutionary perspective on sex differences in competitiveness. I am keen to raise awareness of how sex differences in some areas may arise. Without a full understanding of the many sex differences and similarities in various domains, we run the risk of overlooking and diminishing the very real issues faced by many, and the consequences of this.

I am currently on the committee of the Male Psychology Section of the British Psychological Society, and I have developed the world’s first undergraduate module on Male Psychology.
