Dr Caroline Flurey is Senior Lecturer in Health Psychology and the Associate Head of Department for Public & Environmental Health at UWE, Bristol. Dr Flurey’s research focuses on men’s health, with a particular interest in support provision for men with long term conditions. Her Arthritis Research UK (now Versus Arthritis) post-doctoral fellowship explored the experiences, coping styles, and support needs of men with rheumatoid arthritis, her current work focuses on developing tailored support for men with auto-immune rheumatic diseases. Dr Flurey is also Director of Studies for two PhD students researching the experiences and support needs of young men living with inflammatory arthritis (Ruben McNeil-Walsh), and Black men living with rheumatic diseases (Suzanne van Even).
